Staff Nurse (Band 5) - Oncology Rapid Diagnostic and Assessment Centre

Overview

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join their newly opened state-of-the-art Cancer Centre in Sutton as of July 2023. This role provides a platform to enhance your current nursing skills and gain new expertise in cancer care at every stage of the patient journey. The position involves working within the Rapid Diagnostic Centre and various outpatient clinics including breast clinics, wound care, and pre- and post-operative patient assessment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide, document, and evaluate nursing care based on evidence to patients, coordinating with the shift coordinator.
• Gain increased understanding of cancer patients’ needs and various treatment modalities administered in the unit.
• Learn about the responsibilities involved in shift management, working closely with the Ward Sister or Charge Nurse.
• Assist with diagnostic and minor procedures across dermatology, plastics, sarcoma, and breast clinics.
