Clinical Research Doctor in Cancer Imaging

Overview

This role represents a full-time clinical research fellowship within the Radiology Department at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. It supports the Trust's cancer imaging research initiatives and ensures high-quality imaging response evaluation for clinical trials. The successful applicant will be a radiologist who has completed their FRCR or holds an equivalent qualification, with full GMC registration or eligibility to obtain it.

Key Responsibilities

• Undergo structured training on the Royal Marsden's RECIST and imaging response assessment workflows, including familiarity with local software and reporting procedures.
• Provide support for the RECIST service by performing baseline and follow-up RECIST assessments.
• Evaluate and provide guidance on complex imaging trial queries, such as lesion selection, assessing new lesions, interpreting target and non-target lesions, and categorizing responses.
• Participate actively in clinical trial meetings including weekly RECIST discussions and tumour-specific trial imaging sessions as needed.
