Job description

Overview

The Older Adults Community Mental Health Team in Lancaster & Morecambe is seeking a motivated Band 5 Community Mental Health Nurse to join their team. This part-time role involves working 22.5 hours weekly from DeVitre House in Lancaster, covering the Lancaster & Morecambe area. The team operates Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide compassionate, person-centered mental health care and treatment for patients over 65 years with complex mental health conditions. You will manage and monitor your own caseload, working closely with patients, their families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include supporting patients in community and home settings to remain independent and avoid hospitalization. The role also includes supervision of student nurses and unqualified staff, and undertaking a variety of clinical duties to assist team functions.
