Job description
About the Role
This is a substantive fellowship position initially for six months with the possibility to extend to twelve months pending a satisfactory internal review. The opportunity is open to all post-fellowship anaesthetic specialist registrars aiming to deepen their expertise in critical care medicine within a specialized cancer treatment hospital. The successful candidate will undertake resident on-call duties, consisting typically of 24 to 48-hour shifts at the Sutton site. Additionally, daytime sessions will be provided either at the Critical Care Unit in Fulham Road or in anaesthesia, depending on the individual requirements of the candidate.
The role involves managing the three-bedded Critical Care Unit at Sutton and providing leadership and support to the Critical Care Outreach Service. On-call responsibilities include one weekend in six and an average of one weekday night per week, with appropriate compensatory time off following on-call shifts.
Opportunity Suitability
This position is particularly suitable for individuals seeking Out of Programme for Experience (OOPE) or those looking for experience beyond Certificate of Completion of Training (post-CCT).
