Overview
KIMS Hospital Maidstone is seeking a dedicated and experienced registered nurse to fill the role of Ward Sister in the Day Surgery department. This permanent full-time position offers a starting salary of 36000 and requires working 40 hours per week including shifts between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM from Monday to Saturday based on hospital requirements.
Role Summary
The Ward Sister will assist the Lead Sister in delivering outstanding patient care by assessing, planning, and providing individualized treatment. The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and fostering an environment that supports junior nursing staff and promotes professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently practice high clinical standards and be accountable for personal actions.
- Collaborate within a team setting, supervising junior staff and substituting for Senior Staff when needed.
- Act as a role model and support junior members by encouraging a culture of learning.
- Review and adjust staffing assignments dynamically according to ward activities and patient needs.
- Maintain and pursue continuous personal professional development.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Current registration as a nurse.
- Post-registration clinical experience specifically within day surgery settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Focus on patient-centered care and ongoing service enhancement.
Desirable Qualifications
- Postgraduate specialization in a relevant field.
- Experience in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, or cardiology valued.
- Mentorship training and official qualification.
