About the Role
We are inviting experienced Registered Adult Nurses with a background in Critical Care to join the Surgical High Dependency Unit (HDU) at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone. This role involves working on zero-hours bank contracts covering day, night, and weekend shifts. The hourly pay rate is £26.00 plus holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing, planning, and administering nursing care tailored to each surgical patient’s needs within a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintaining high standards of clinical practice while being responsible for your own professional actions.
- Collaborating effectively in a team environment, guiding junior staff, and standing in for senior staff when necessary.
- Participating in training initiatives to enhance staff competence in Level 2 high dependency patient care on the ward.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development through external support channels including the Kent Critical Care network and neighbouring NHS Trusts.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Current registration as a qualified nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Post-registration clinical experience in a Critical Care setting.
- Documented evidence of continuous professional development applied in practice.
Desirable Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Surgical Nursing or Critical Care.
- Training and qualification in mentorship.
- Additional experience handling post-registered medicine, surgery, orthopaedics or cardiac care patients.
