Job description

Overview

This position is ideally suited for medical trainees who are currently between clinical rotations, typically ranging from Foundation Year 2 (F2) to Core Training Year 3 (CT3) level. Candidates from acute specialties such as Accident & Emergency, Anaesthesia, Medicine, and Surgery are encouraged to apply.

The post is based at Northwick Park/St Mark's Hospital, a large district general hospital that also functions as a national referral centre for colorectal surgery and intestinal failure. The hospital offers district and supra-district services across various specialties including ENT, maxillofacial, vascular surgery, and infectious diseases.

Intensive Care Unit Details

The Intensive Care Unit comprises 48 beds divided between two separate units, managing approximately 400 patient admissions annually. It is an accredited training environment providing basic, intermediate, and advanced levels of training in Intensive Care Medicine. The program aims to deliver education and clinical experiences that meet the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) training requirements.

Post-holders will collaborate and train alongside formal trainees from Anaesthetic, Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS), and Internal Medical Training (IMT) rotations, receiving equivalent teaching, clinical exposure, and assessments.
