Student Support Specialist

About the Role

Nord Anglia Education invites applications for a Student Support Specialist position at Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. EGA is an emerging IB World School offering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).

The appointed Specialist will deliver focused academic interventions via the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), alongside providing English as a Second Language (ESL) education for multilingual students.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing targeted academic support to students identified through the school's MTSS framework.
• Implementing Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions in small groups or one-on-one, particularly within literacy and mathematics.
• Planning and teaching ESL lessons tailored to multilingual learners requiring additional support.
• Collaborating with classroom educators to design and apply differentiated teaching methods and accommodations.
• Tracking student progress through various assessment tools such as MAP Growth and in-class evaluations.
• Developing, executing, and periodically reviewing Student Support Plans (SSPs) in partnership with teachers and families.
• Engaging actively in Student Support Team meetings, case discussions, and collaborative planning.
• Facilitating open communication with educators, parents, and school leadership concerning student development and support initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related discipline.
• Valid teaching certification/licence recognized by the institution.
• Proven experience assisting learners with varied educational needs in inclusion settings.
• Background in providing literacy and/or mathematics interventions.
• Preferred experience teaching ESL/EAL learners.
• Familiarity with MTSS/RTI frameworks, differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and inclusive education strategies.
• Proficiency in utilizing student data to guide instruction and evaluate learning progress.
• Strong skills in teamwork, communication, and organization.
