About the Role
Etqan Global Academy (EGA), a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a passionate and creative Early Years Teacher to join their expanding team. This role involves fostering a nurturing and inquiry-based learning environment for children aged 3-6 within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Early Years framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging play-based and inquiry-led lessons aligned with the IB PYP Early Years framework.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inspiring classroom environment where every child feels appreciated and motivated.
- Observe and document children's developmental progress through portfolio evidence, utilizing this data to plan appropriate next steps.
- Develop strong partnerships with parents and families via ongoing communication and involvement.
- Collaborate with the Early Years team to plan, reflect upon, and review inquiry units.
- Embed the IB learner profile attributes, international-mindedness, and positive attitudes consistently within classroom practices.
- Support children's well-being, autonomy, and social-emotional growth.
- Engage positively in broader school community events, continuous professional development, and school improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a recognized teaching qualification in Early Years, primary, or early childhood education (e.g., PGCE, QTS, B.Ed., or equivalent).
- Proven teaching experience in Early Years settings with children aged 3-6, preferably in IB or other international schools.
- Familiarity with the IB PYP Early Years framework or similar inquiry-based early years curricula.
- In-depth knowledge of child development theories and child-initiated, play-based learning methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with a caring and nurturing approach towards young children and their families.
- A strong dedication to inclusive education practices and child welfare.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection standards.
- Prior experience in international schools is an asset.
