Role overview
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Anaesthetics for the PRUH and South Sites. The role is designed mainly for senior anaesthetic trainees, as well as qualified anaesthetists who want wider exposure to anaesthesia and additional training in regional anaesthesia.
The department provides anaesthetic services across a broad mix of general and specialist areas, including maxillofacial surgery, bariatrics, general surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics and trauma.
This opportunity is also appropriate for doctors looking for a senior fellowship. The successful appointee will be expected to take an active part in the department’s teaching and training activity, work with a named educational supervisor, and complete annual review and appraisal.
Clinical and professional responsibilities
- Deliver a high standard of clinical anaesthetic care.
- Provide leadership within the specialty team.
- Contribute to teaching and research alongside King’s College London and KHP.
- Work in line with Trust procedures and operating policies.
- Carry out clinical duties within contractual requirements and agreed service plans.
- Support the Trust’s business plans and specialty development strategy.
Working arrangements
The post involves working across any of the Trust’s PRUH and South sites, depending on service needs. Annual leave and study leave are aligned with those offered to other post-foundation doctors.
