Job description
Role Overview
We are searching for a seasoned and driven Team Lead Physiotherapist / First Contact Practitioner (FCP) to join our dynamic musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient service. This thrilling role demands an expert clinician with advanced knowledge in musculoskeletal care and proven leadership capabilities to ensure delivery of patient-focused, high-quality care within outpatient and primary care environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to physiotherapists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and promote professional growth.
- Manage your own caseload of complex MSK patients, functioning autonomously as a First Contact Practitioner by assessing, diagnosing, and managing musculoskeletal conditions.
- Operate as a first point of contact in virtual fracture clinics and GP-based clinics, delivering expert clinical interventions and applying advanced clinical practices as necessary.
- Undertake training to support work in related clinical settings such as Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment Triage Service (MCATS) and additional FCP duties.
- Contribute to operational management and clinical leadership responsibilities pertaining to physiotherapy services linked to the Virtual Fracture Clinic alongside the Deputy Head of Physiotherapy.
- Offer specialist advice and support to MSK teams, Orthopaedic Consultants, Rheumatologists, Spinal Surgeons, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure efficient, effective, and high-quality physiotherapy service delivery within the MSK outpatient department.
- Participate as a member of the Physiotherapy Department Management team, undertaking planning, policy development, and deputising for the Deputy Head of Physiotherapy when needed.
