Role overview

The Enterprise Corporate Sales (ECS) Account Executive for the Public Sector will manage a high volume of smaller opportunities across enterprise accounts. The role is centered on New Zealand government customers, especially organizations in social development and welfare. It is a strong fit for someone ready to grow their enterprise sales capability alongside experienced sales leaders.

Salesforce supports new hires with a thorough induction and onboarding program, along with internal sales support, pre-sales expertise, and other resources designed to help develop and close opportunities effectively.

What you'll do

  • Consistently work toward and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets by promoting Salesforce solutions within an assigned account subset or vertical.
  • Own the full sales cycle and deliver against key performance goals, with a primary focus on new business while also growing existing accounts.
  • Research territories or verticals to build a go-to-market approach and identify qualified target accounts.
  • Develop pipeline through cold outreach, email campaigns, and market intelligence.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline to support strong results in the assigned market segment.
  • Present Salesforce offerings using value-based selling, business case development, ROI analysis, references, and analyst insights.
  • Coordinate with sales engineers, professional services, executives, partners, and other internal resources to move deals forward end to end.
  • Balance near-term wins with a long-term revenue strategy.
  • Keep CRM records current with accurate customer and pipeline information.
  • Prepare precise monthly forecasts and revenue updates.

What we're looking for

  • Substantial experience selling enterprise software, ideally with a major software vendor.
  • A strong record of generating new direct business and consistently meeting or surpassing targets.
  • Clear evidence of overachieving in sales roles.
  • Strong executive presence and credibility, including the ability to engage senior stakeholders up to CxO level.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Experience selling CRM applications or working within a specific industry vertical would be an advantage.
  • A history of staying with previous employers for meaningful periods.
