About the Role
This opportunity is offered through a partner organization seeking a Director of Talent & People to be based in Italy. The role involves leading and scaling the people function within a dynamic, tech-driven company. You will be accountable for shaping talent strategy, managing people operations, and elevating the overall employee experience by building effective systems that enable teams to excel.
Collaborating closely with executive leadership, you will influence the organization's ability to attract, nurture, and retain top talent. The position blends strategic planning with hands-on management in recruitment, organizational growth, and people-centric processes, fostering a high-performance culture based on ownership, collaboration, and innovation across a global, distributed workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine the comprehensive Talent and People strategy to support organizational growth with appropriate structures and processes.
- Oversee nationwide talent acquisition, workforce planning, and recruiting operations to enhance recruitment quality, speed, and consistency.
- Lead and grow the recruiting team by establishing scalable hiring workflows for multiple departments and regions.
- Directly support hiring at executive and leadership levels by enhancing interview procedures, candidate experience, and evaluation frameworks.
- Implement and sustain people operations infrastructure including onboarding, offboarding, policy documentation, and employee support services.
- Ensure a positive employee lifecycle experience through clear role definitions, reporting lines, and expectation management.
- Contribute to organizational design, workforce structuring, and operational upgrades in partnership with leadership.
- Create and manage performance evaluations, feedback loops, career growth, and employee retention initiatives.
- Use data-driven insights to monitor organizational health and proactively address talent-related challenges.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior executives by offering pragmatic solutions and building long-term infrastructure for expansion.
Requirements
- Between 5 and 10+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Human Resources, or similar leadership positions.
- Proven track record managing organizations with over 100 employees, preferably in fast-scaling startups, agencies, or technology firms.
- Demonstrated success in leading recruitment teams and overseeing complete hiring processes.
- Deep understanding of managing people operations in remote-first or globally dispersed setups.
- Experienced in designing recruitment systems, onboarding processes, performance management frameworks, and employee development programs.
- Experienced in collaborating directly with founders and senior leadership on strategic people initiatives.
- Excellent organizational judgement with strong decision-making capabilities adaptable to limited information and shifting priorities.
- Possesses a proactive, execution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and iterative improvement skills.
- Superior written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Comfortable thriving in dynamic environments driven by the continuous creation of new processes and systems.
Compensation and Benefits
