About the Role

The Director of Engineering at One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro plays a pivotal role in overseeing the maintenance and overall management of luxury resort assets. Set along the scenic Adriatic coast, you will lead a dynamic team to ensure facilities operate at the highest standards of performance and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the engineering team, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations.
• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule, recommending improvements and upgrades as needed.
• Oversee technical services and ensure optimal performance of all engineering systems and utilities.
• Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources in alignment with operational priorities.
• Resolve technical challenges promptly, always prioritizing guest comfort and safety.
• Analyze engineering performance reports to identify, propose, and implement system improvements.
• Drive major projects aimed at enhancing service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and legislative requirements.
• Mentor, train, and evaluate engineering staff, identifying opportunities for professional growth.
• Maintain open communication with the General Manager and keep stakeholders informed of key issues.
• Establish and nurture productive relationships with external suppliers and other partners.

Required Experience and Skills

• Demonstrated experience in comprehensive facilities management, including both proactive maintenance and rapid response repairs.
• Proficiency in developing and delivering effective operational plans within strict timelines and budgets.
• Strong negotiation and contract administration abilities, ensuring accountability from suppliers and partners.
• A history of effective project management in a technical or engineering role at a luxury resort or similar environment.
• Exceptional people leadership skills, including team development and performance management.
• Outstanding customer service orientation, adept at working directly with guests and internal teams.
• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Montenegrin is a valuable asset.
• Solid computer proficiency.
