Role Summary
The Data Entry Officer will be responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining merchant, product, inventory, and pricing information in the Moniebook platform. Working with onboarding and account teams, this role helps ensure data is clean, complete, and ready on time so retail customers can go live smoothly and reporting remains reliable.
Performance in this role is judged by data accuracy, turnaround speed, and how well the work supports a scalable and error-free operations process.

Key Responsibilities
- Enter, update, and keep merchant records current, including product catalogues, SKUs, pricing, stock levels, and customer details.
- Handle bulk uploads from spreadsheets and CSV files, checking that the structure and content are correct before import.
- Make sure all records follow Moniebook’s data rules and naming standards.
- Prepare merchant accounts before onboarding by filling in required product, inventory, and configuration information within agreed timelines.
- Review merchant-submitted templates for missing fields or mistakes and work to close those gaps before data is entered.
- Assist with catalogue setup, tax settings, and payment configuration as directed by the onboarding team.
- Check data for mistakes, duplicates, and outdated entries, then correct issues where needed.
- Compare information across spreadsheets, CRM tools, and POS back-end systems to keep records aligned.
- Identify and log data issues, then send them to the relevant team for resolution.
- Keep clear records of data entry work, import logs, and correction history in the CRM.
- Document frequent errors and how they were fixed so the team can build a useful shared reference and reduce repeat issues.
- Spot recurring workflow delays and suggest improvements to the operations lead.
- Respond to urgent data requests from onboarding specialists, account managers, and support teams within SLA timelines.
- Work with internal teams to collect missing customer information without delaying onboarding.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be highly detail-focused, comfortable handling large volumes of data, and able to work methodically under pressure while keeping quality high. The role suits someone who is proactive, organised, and collaborative, with a strong interest in improving how work gets done.
Qualifications
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in data entry, data operations, or a related role, ideally in SaaS, retail technology, or fintech.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent record of accurate work across large datasets.
- Good command of Excel or Google Sheets, including data cleaning, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic formulas.
- Familiarity with CRM systems or POS/back-office SaaS platforms.
- Strong organisational ability and the capacity to manage several tasks at once.
Preferred Background
- Experience with bulk CSV uploads, data migration, or catalogue administration in a SaaS setting.
- Exposure to retail operations, inventory systems, or point-of-sale platforms.
- Previous support for onboarding, implementation, or customer success teams.
- Candidate must be based in Onitsha Central.

- At least 99% accuracy in data entry for merchant account builds and catalogue uploads.
- No onboarding delays caused by incomplete or unready data.
- All ad-hoc data requests completed within the agreed SLA window.
- Open task backlog maintained below 5% at any given time.
- Average rating above 4.5 from onboarding specialists and account managers for data quality and turnaround time.
