About the Organisation

The Institute of Mental Health in Singapore is a leading psychiatric hospital with a long history of service. It provides broad mental health care through inpatient wards and outpatient clinics, and also supports the development of future healthcare professionals through training partnerships.

Role Overview

This position sits within the Dietetics and Catering Services team. The storekeeper will manage incoming food-service supplies, check and distribute stock, keep inventory records up to date, and help maintain an orderly and clean store environment.

Key Duties

  • Check and accept deliveries of goods from vendors for kitchen operations.
  • Support the upkeep of stock at approved levels, including when urgent situations arise.
  • Issue dry ration supplies to wards every day.
  • Store inventory and release items to the kitchen, departments, and wards as needed.
  • Record daily postings and issue transactions for dry ration and cooking items.
  • Measure, weigh, and package dry rations before distribution to wards.
  • Assist the Senior Storekeeper in arranging and issuing dry ration supplies for wards and the kitchen.
  • Keep general store areas tidy and ensure proper storage conditions are maintained.
  • Help conduct dry ration checks in the wards.
  • Support the Senior Storekeeper with documentation, stock records, and data entry.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and keep stock records correct at all times.
  • Carry out other duties related to the role when assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be service-minded, self-assured, and motivated by helping others.
  • Needs strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Should work well in a team and be open to learning.
  • Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Should have at least GCE O Level or NTC 2 qualification.
  • Requires 1 to 2 years of experience in store-related work.
  • Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.

Working Environment

This is a full-time onsite position in Singapore, Singapore. The role is part of the Ancillary family group and reports within the Dietetics and Catering Services department.

IMH was established in 1928 and operates as a major 2,000-bed psychiatric hospital at Buangkok Green Medical Park. It manages 50 inpatient wards and 7 outpatient clinics, and contributes to mental health education and professional training through the NHG-AHPL Residency Programme and collaborations with local academic institutions.
