Role overview

The People Business Partner for Kenya will serve as the main HR partner for Moniepoint’s Kenya business. This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who can both shape strategy and execute effectively in a fast-paced, regulated fintech environment. Working closely with the Kenya CEO, you will help design and deliver people initiatives that improve performance, engagement, and organizational capability.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Kenya CEO to turn people plans into action and keep them aligned with business goals and talent needs.
• Handle everyday employee lifecycle matters alongside People Operations and Employee Relations.
• Guide managers on performance reviews, feedback conversations, and team engagement.
• Review people data such as attrition, engagement, and performance to spot trends and recommend solutions.
• Contribute to organizational design, workforce planning, and change management activities.
• Partner with specialist teams in Talent Management, Total Rewards, Learning, and Employee Relations to roll out enterprise HR programs locally.
• Promote an inclusive and accountable culture through regular day-to-day interactions.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of HR experience, including 5+ years in an HR business partner or advisory position.
• Demonstrated success working as a People Business Partner in a fast-changing organization.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and regulatory requirements.
• Comfort working with data and drawing insights from people metrics.
• Membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
• CHRP-K certification.

Preferred background

• Experience in fintech, banking, or digital-first environments.
• Exposure to large-scale HR transformation or business scaling initiatives.

• You help reduce people risks, plan the workforce proactively, and maintain a stable, engaged, and well-structured team ready for future needs.

Candidate profile

The right person will combine commercial thinking with strong people judgment, use data and behavioural patterns to drive decisions, and stay calm and credible under pressure. You should be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, simplifying complex issues, and ensuring enterprise HR programs create real impact in the business. Sound judgment, accountability, and collaboration across teams are essential.
