Role Overview
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will oversee pharmaceutical care management for assigned clinics, ensuring top-quality service in line with our clinical governance framework encompassing clinical standards, medical standards, performance metrics, education, and research. Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, delivering, and assessing pharmaceutical services, managing drug therapies aimed at improving patients’ health and quality of life, promoting wellness education, pharmaceutical supply oversight, and contributing to scientific research and preventive care initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Be accountable to your Direct Manager for administrative, business, medical, and operational clinic targets, and to the Function Head for ensuring care standards and quality management.
- Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide patient-centered, evidence-based pharmaceutical care embedded in Diaverum’s care systems; engage with patients to guide them through disease management, dialysis treatments, medications, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Lead and participate in pharmaceutical and preventive care projects aligned with departmental strategies and organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary contact in the clinic for all pharmaceutical care-related matters involving medical, nursing, and operational teams.
- Ensure effective drug therapy, health promotion, and lifestyle counseling tailored to patients’ diverse demographics and psychosocial contexts.
- Maintain and implement comprehensive pharmacotherapy plans including patient assessment, intervention, documentation, monitoring, and evaluation following national and international renal care standards.
- Monitor clinical parameters related to pharmaceutical care performance and ensure adherence to quality benchmarks.
- Participate actively in dietetics research within the pharmaceutical care department.
- Manage pharmaceutical supplies ensuring medication safety, product quality, availability, and optimal inventory management through coordination with logistics and MDT teams.
- Analyze pharmaceutical usage data and stock reports to optimize supply and reduce waste, ensuring compliance with medication manufacturing guidelines and internal policies.
- Adhere strictly to organizational policies covering patient confidentiality, infection control, safety standards, attendance, dress code, and regulatory healthcare requirements (including JCI and CBAHI accreditations).
- Collaborate with leadership and clinic staff in achieving quality and medical targets through participation in management and departmental meetings.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities, training programs, and support the induction and education of new pharmaceutical team members and interns.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy preferred).
- Certification as a Pharmacist Specialist by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; 1-2 years clinical dietetics or clinical pharmacy experience in hospital or clinical settings preferred.
- Specialty experience in renal, diabetes, or hypertension care is advantageous.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence in computer use and proficiency with MS Office applications.
