Role Overview
Join our team as a Waste and Recycling Attendant to actively maintain clean, safe, and well-organized premises. This full-time onsite position involves hands-on tasks such as moving and sorting waste materials, cleaning common areas, and conducting general site maintenance. This role offers a dynamic and physically engaging work environment with opportunities for growth and team involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect waste and recyclables from assigned locations following site protocols
- Separate waste materials according to established sorting procedures
- Transport bins, containers, and waste receptacles to designated collection zones
- Return containers to their appropriate storage locations after collection
- Clean garbage rooms, loading bays, shared spaces, and surrounding areas
- Address spills promptly and clear loose waste or debris
- Perform routine site maintenance duties to uphold facility standards
- Maintain neat, safe, and orderly work areas at all times
- Operate cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment in a safe manner
- Report any damaged tools, hazardous situations, or maintenance needs
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and workplace policies
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned
Candidate Profile
- Physically active and enjoys practical, hands-on labor
- Dependable, punctual, and self-driven
- Capable of walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling continuously during shifts
- Comfortable moving waste containers independently
- Able to work solo or collaboratively within a team
- Adaptable to indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on cleanliness, safety, and organization
- Follows instructions and abides by safety procedures diligently
- Previous waste management, custodial, or porter experience is advantageous but not essential
- Training will be provided; no prior experience required
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive hourly wages ranging from 22 to 25 CAD
- Full-time schedule from Monday to Friday
