About the Role
Sudima Hotels is dedicated to providing heartfelt hospitality through genuine care, connection, and close attention to detail. We are currently seeking Food & Beverage Attendants to join our Auckland City team. This role involves creating memorable guest experiences across multiple venues, including the Sunset rooftop bar, East Restaurant, in-room dining, and event support.
Evening and weekend shifts are part of the role. East Restaurant, highlighted in the MICHELIN Guide 2026 and recognized as Auckland's Best Vegetarian Restaurant, offers a sophisticated dining experience with signature dishes such as Water Chestnut Wontons. You will play an essential role in elevating the guest experience at these celebrated locations.
We welcome candidates with previous experience in similar roles and a strong enthusiasm for surpassing guest expectations. This position is permanent, part-time with a minimum of 10 hours per week, and based at Sudima Auckland City.
Responsibilities
- Extend a warm, engaging, and professional greeting to all guests, establishing sincere connections through attentive and considerate service.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver outstanding service and foster a strong community spirit.
- Ensure the restaurant and service areas are well-prepared and organized, applying sustainable practices in setup and resource management.
- Seat guests, accurately take orders, and provide attentive, high-quality service that consistently exceeds guest expectations.
- Handle internal and external phone inquiries efficiently, including coordinating in-room dining services with care.
- Accurately process guest payments with integrity and precise attention to detail.
- Address guest feedback and concerns empathetically to ensure timely and positive resolutions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly service environment, supporting safety and mindful use of resources.
- Assist in delivering smooth service during events, functions, and conferences as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Hospitality or customer-facing experience is preferred but not mandatory; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are greatly valued.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for exceptional guest service.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain quality under fast-paced conditions.
- Flexibility and reliability with availability for rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to stay composed under pressure and committed to exceeding guest satisfaction.
- Physically able to stand for long periods and carry service items as required.
- Team-oriented mindset contributing positively to a supportive and cooperative workplace.
- Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand is required.
