Role Overview

The Early Morning Stock Associate ensures customers enjoy a positive and welcoming shopping experience. Key responsibilities include greeting customers warmly, maintaining a clean and well-organized store, adhering to safety and company standards, and supporting merchandising and stockroom operations as needed. This position demands active engagement during working hours and a variety of tasks aligned with customer service and store operations goals.

Essential Duties

• Prioritize safety by practicing and promoting safe behaviors throughout the workplace.
• Maintain alertness on the sales floor to ensure a secure and hazard-free shopping area with clear emergency exits.
• Treat customers and coworkers respectfully and courteously, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Assist customers expertly, including being register-trained and knowledgeable in merchandise offering.
• Respond promptly and courteously to customer needs, escalating issues to store leadership when appropriate.
• Uphold the company's brand image and support store policies consistently.
• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing high-contact surfaces, replenishing restroom supplies, and maintaining all team and customer areas.
• Keep the store orderly through daily merchandise sizing, recovery, and presentation per company standards.
• Efficiently process new merchandise and ensure proper placement and brand familiarity within departments to assist customers.
• Understand and comply with loss prevention and merchandise protection policies.
• Maintain integrity in handling confidential information, cash, and merchandise, following all cash handling procedures accurately.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and productivity, minimizing unnecessary steps while executing store best practices.

Skills and Competencies

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with customers, associates, and leadership.
• Basic math skills suitable for retail calculations.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment, including registers and handheld devices.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, and occasionally lift or push objects exceeding 20-25 pounds.
• Ability to operate janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other operational supplies.
• Understanding of safety, emergency procedures, and store operational policies.
• Strong teamwork, accountability, business acumen, and leadership by example.

Physical and ADA Requirements

• Capability to be on feet and moving around the store throughout the shift.
• Regular bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and reaching as part of daily tasks.
• Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of items heavier than 25 pounds, especially when working stockroom shifts.
