This role is focused on maintaining a visible security presence at store entrances, exits, and throughout the sales floor. The aim is to help deter theft and fraud, support a safe environment for both customers and associates, and assist store leadership with loss prevention and shortage reduction efforts.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a strong, visible presence near entrances and exits, greeting customers in a courteous way while helping discourage theft.
- Observe the sales floor for signs of suspicious activity or possible theft, and escalate concerns to store leadership.
- Support a safe shopping and working environment by helping keep emergency exits clear and removing obstacles that could create hazards.
- Work with store leaders and loss prevention teams to follow prevention guidelines and reduce operational shortage.
- Provide respectful, professional customer service to shoppers and associates at all times.
- Take part in partner communication such as calls, district meetings, associate education, and recognition activities when needed.
- Follow company rules for responding to external theft situations and apply best-practice methods to work efficiently.
- Help increase associate awareness of shortage-reduction processes and verify proper checkout practices for customers and associates.
- Represent the brand professionally and comply with the company dress code, including the required vest and black attire.
- Perform other loss-prevention-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is preferred.
- At least 1 year of retail supervisor experience or comparable training is preferred.
- At least 1 year of loss prevention or security training is preferred.
- An active security guard license is preferred.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-moving retail setting.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with store teammates.
- Good customer service skills and the ability to resolve conflict effectively.
- Must be able to comply with applicable federal and state requirements for security roles, which may include background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting, and/or drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be dependable with consistent attendance and timeliness.
- Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the store for the full workday.
- Must be able to lift or lower items weighing more than 25 lbs between levels, including upward pulling.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, or crouch as needed based on business requirements.
Work environment and employment notes
This is an onsite full-time position in Calhoun, Georgia. The role requires a constant in-store presence and active movement throughout the day. The posting notes that some assignments may require additional qualifications and skills. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
