Role overview
As a leader in a Coles store, you’ll help shape everyday experiences for customers, teammates and the wider community. Your work will contribute to the company’s broader purpose of helping Australians eat and live better every day.
About the role
In this position, you’ll work alongside the Store Manager and report directly to them. You’ll play a key role in overseeing both operational and people-related areas of the store. The focus is on maintaining a store that feels well-presented, friendly and engaging for customers, team members and the local community. It’s a strong next step for someone ready to grow retail leadership capability.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Support the Store Manager across daily store operations and people management.
- Help lead, coach and grow a large team of more than 100 people.
- Work effectively in a fast-moving, intricate retail environment.
- Contribute to achieving or surpassing key commercial performance goals.
- Ensure standards for merchandising, safety, compliance and auditing are consistently upheld.
- Keep the customer experience simple, clear and engaging for a diverse customer base.
- Promote a one-team culture that puts health, safety and wellbeing first.
Candidate profile
You should bring solid retail leadership experience and the ability to operate confidently in a high-pressure, complex setting. A strong customer focus, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to building an inclusive, safe team culture are important for success in this role.
