This position is for an Assistant Manager in Client & Commercial Asset Management based at the headquarters in Dubai. The role centers on managing relationships with customers post-commissioning of assets in the UAE, commercial coordination, contractual adherence, asset performance oversight, and liaising with internal stakeholders. The incumbent acts as the primary contact for designated customers, handling inquiries professionally, overseeing billing and collections, coordinating asset performance insights, and ensuring alignment among various internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the chief point of contact for assigned customers after asset commissioning, fostering robust relationships, prompt communication, and swift issue resolution.
- Manage customer billing inquiries, receivables follow-up, security documentation, invoicing, and compliance with contractual duties.
- Monitor asset performance metrics including generation output, operational events, downtimes, and incidents impacting commercial and contractual standings.
- Collaborate with operations & maintenance (O&M) and technical teams to understand asset issues, resolve them timely, and update customers accordingly.
- Work jointly with Finance to track receivables, billing status, payment reminders, budget versus actual financials, and reporting inputs.
- Support compliance and reporting requirements for financed assets, such as debt service coverage ratio calculations, covenant monitoring, debt service obligations, insurance mandates, and timely submissions.
- Prepare and consolidate portfolio reports, customer communications, receivables summaries, asset overviews, and compliance filings.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Insurance, O&M, technical experts, and senior management to address issues affecting customers, assets, or contractual adherence.
- Identify commercial risks, customer concerns, and potential value-adding opportunities, including asset optimization, expansion, or customer growth prospects.
- Drive continuous enhancements in client management processes, reporting accuracy, internal collaboration, and operational workflows.
Candidate Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience in roles related to client relationship management, account management, aftersales, commercial operations, service delivery coordination, contract or asset management.
- Background in renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, facilities management, engineering services, energy sectors, or similarly asset-intensive industries.
- Exceptional skills in managing customers and stakeholders, adept at expectation management, follow-ups, and interdepartmental coordination.
- Strong commercial insight with understanding of billing processes, receivables, contractual obligations, operational issues, and risk factors.
- Experience managing long-term contracts such as service agreements, leases, power purchase agreements, or infrastructure contracts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and coordination tasks.
- Capability to juggle multiple customers, assets, priorities, and sensitive timelines effectively.
- Effective and professional communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in solar PV, distributed energy, commercial & industrial infrastructure, or energy-as-a-service business models.
- Familiarity with O&M coordination, technical service delivery, post-commissioning support, and following up on asset performance.
- Experience handling financed assets including lender reporting, covenant compliance, and DSCR assessments.
- Exposure to working collaboratively with Finance, Legal, O&M, technical, insurance, and commercial teams.
- Understanding of generation performance, asset operational drivers, downtime causes, deemed energy, and related customer performance issues.
- Skilled in drafting customer updates, portfolio reports, analysing receivables, completing compliance submissions, and summarizing asset performance reports.
Success Factors
- Build and nurture trusted partnerships with customers and stakeholders.
- Serve as the effective coordination hub among customers, O&M, finance, legal, and commercial departments.
- Exhibit commercial acumen to promptly identify risks, obligations, and opportunities.
- Maintain professional persistence in managing billing, receivables, and customer or internal issues.
- Communicate clearly especially when managing escalations, priorities, and complex issues.
- Remain composed and organized when managing diverse customers, asset portfolios, and deadlines.
- Interpret contracts, financial data, and operational updates carefully with an eye for detail.
- Act with accountability and a mindset similar to an asset owner.
- Share a passion for sustainability and be committed to advancing clean energy adoption in the region.
