Senior Business Engagement Officer

Role Overview

The Senior Business Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in fostering and maintaining robust client relationships, providing expert advice, and supporting the collection of requirements for ICT solutions that address both new and existing business challenges. This role also involves assisting ICT leadership in managing partnerships with senior business stakeholders and collaborating with ICT teams to ensure services meet evolving business demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain and apply a comprehensive understanding of the department's overarching business strategy, policies, and processes to advise on suitable ICT solutions aligned with departmental initiatives.
• Offer guidance and assistance to clients regarding the implementation of the department's ICT strategy, governance, and processes as they affect business strategic and operational planning.
• Support Product Owners in orchestrating engagement efforts with senior ICT leaders and client representatives, including organizing meetings, reporting outcomes, and facilitating effective dialogue with senior business managers.
• Collaborate with clients to define system requirements, acceptance criteria, and necessary documentation to clearly express their ICT needs; liaise with relevant ICT teams to prepare and present submissions for ICT governance review.
• Advocate alongside ICT teams for the delivery of services that align with business requirements and contribute to enhancements of information systems and management practices.
• Communicate clearly and sustain positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Lead activities such as workshops, focus groups, and consultations that aid in analyzing client requirements.

Essential Requirements

• A thorough understanding of the Queensland Child Safety Continuum, especially in relation to business processes and current information management methods.
• Familiarity with or the ability to quickly learn Agile and Prince2 project management methodologies.
