Job description

Role Overview

This role primarily involves overnight shifts with flexibility in scheduling. The position is based across Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals, providing opportunities to enhance skills within a high-demand acute imaging service. It is a permanent full-time opportunity classified at Radiographer Level 2, offering a remuneration range from $79,087 to $108,944 per annum, with a standard 35-hour workweek. Job sharing for part-time hours may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures adhering to rigorous professional and radiation safety standards.
  • Provide primarily overnight imaging services at the designated hospitals, including occasional daytime shifts.
  • Ensure effective communication and provide support to patients throughout their imaging processes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize workflow, patient outcomes, and service quality.
  • Contribute actively to quality assurance, patient safety programs, infection control, and ongoing service enhancements.

Qualifications & Licensing

  • Possession of a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is required prior to starting.
  • Eligibility for the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) Radiation Licence iA14 is essential.

Candidate Attributes

  • Proven experience in general radiography, including trauma, operating theatre support, mobile imaging, dental, and fluoroscopy.
  • Experience working in fast-paced hospital settings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound problem-solving skills in clinical contexts with effective resolution capabilities.
