Pacific Health Worker

About the Role

Join Western Sydney Local Health District as a Pacific Health Worker at Mount Druitt Community Health Centre, where you will contribute to improving health outcomes through culturally responsive and community-led initiatives. This temporary part-time position offers 14 hours per week with a potential job share, running until 30th June 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide culturally sensitive case management, advocacy, and health education tailored to Pacific communities.
• Design and implement health programs and resources that respect cultural identity.
• Coordinate referrals and transport assistance to facilitate healthcare access.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations and local agencies.
• Support community development and implement early intervention strategies.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid New South Wales driver’s licence.
• Relevant qualifications in social sciences, health, or related fields to qualify as Health Education Officer (graduate or non-graduate).
• In-depth knowledge or links to Pacific communities, with a strong understanding of their specific health challenges.
• Experience in developing, delivering, evaluating culturally suitable health education and promotion initiatives.
• Proven ability to form successful partnerships with government, non-government, and community organizations.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Information

This role is classified under Health Education Officer (graduate and non-graduate), offering remuneration between $34.08 and $62.28 per hour. Applications close on 9th August 2026.
