About the Role

Become part of one of the largest Oncology Clinical Trial Units in New South Wales by joining the team at Blacktown Hospital's Cancer & Haematology Centre. This centre is dedicated to delivering patient-focused cancer care alongside cutting-edge clinical research. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team providing patients access to novel and potentially life-extending cancer therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee complex oncology clinical trials, ensuring adherence to protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Support patient engagement activities including recruitment, consenting, education, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, research staff, sponsors, Ethics Committees, and wider healthcare teams.
  • Prepare necessary documentation such as regulatory submissions, safety reports, amendments, and audit files.
  • Deliver clinical nursing care while maintaining compliance with institutional policies and mandatory trainings.

Candidate Requirements

  • Completion of Nursing and Midwifery degree and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience in oncology nursing is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Position Details and Additional Information

This is a temporary full-time position lasting up to 12 months with a weekly commitment of 38 hours. Part-time job-sharing options may be considered. The role is based at Blacktown Hospital in Western Sydney.

Hourly pay ranges from $41.22 to $57.88. Due to the hospital’s changing parking allocation system, new staff are placed on a managed waitlist for parking, except those with a disability parking permit.
