Mizuho's Banking Division offers extensive corporate and investment banking services, including sponsor coverage, advisory, loan capital markets, and syndicate functions to major international corporations, financial institutions, and public entities primarily in the US and Canada. The division supports clients throughout the region by providing a broad suite of lending and capital markets capabilities facilitated by integrated teams specializing in coverage, advisory, and product banking. These teams are responsible for relationship management, strategic transaction development, and executing mandates involving banking and securities, as well as ideation for acquisitions, divestitures, and investments.

Job Overview

As an Investment & Corporate Banking Analyst within the healthcare vertical, you will contribute directly to structuring, originating, and executing M&A, equity/debt capital markets transactions, leveraged finance, and other global financial products and services. Your role requires insight into industry trends and transaction impacts, enhancing pitch and deal material quality for client presentations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive quantitative economic, sector, and company-specific research and analysis.
• Develop pitch books with detailed healthcare sector industry materials.
• Model various corporate finance options and conduct due diligence for transactions such as M&A, strategic alternatives, capital structuring, acquisition financing, syndicated loans, and capital market activities.
• Conduct financial modeling, valuations, comparable analyses, and market-specific assessments.
• Coordinate cross-product idea generation and solutions development across global banking services.
• Prepare client presentation materials including for M&A, public and private debt/equity capital markets, and syndicated bank financing by liaising with relevant internal and external teams.
• Assist in financing structuring, underwriting evaluation, due diligence processes, and transaction execution.
• Support the development and maintenance of client relationships.

Qualifications & Eligibility

• A bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics.
• At least one year of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or capital markets with a top-tier global bank.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with banking transactions related to healthcare.
• Strong foundational knowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets, plus risk and pricing analysis.
• Ability to synthesize extensive data and generate innovative ideas or product solutions.
• Proven capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with capacity to articulate ideas clearly.
• Sound judgement and discretion when working with confidential information.
• Self-starter attitude with strong teamwork skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this role ranges from $110,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, education, certifications, and other relevant criteria. Besides salary, employees benefit from a comprehensive benefits package and eligibility for discretionary bonuses.

Candidates must currently be authorized to work full-time in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship; Mizuho does not support work visa sponsorship including but not limited to F-1, TN, O-1, E-3, or H visas.
