Role Overview
As part of Amazon's commitment to be Earth's Best Employer, the Human Resources division, called People Experience and Technology (PXT), supports the organization's success by cultivating a safe, diverse, and innovative work environment. The HR Business Partner provides comprehensive HR support to a large group of hourly employees and business leaders, focusing on leadership growth, enhancing employee experience, and optimizing operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with business leaders to implement HR initiatives that prioritize talent management, employee engagement, and excellent internal customer service.
- Utilize data analytics to detect workplace trends, forecast challenges, and develop proactive solutions that improve employee experience and business results.
- Maintain strong in-person presence at the site to gather insights, sustain employee engagement, and direct recognition programs.
- Coach leaders in effective people management including performance reviews, team development, and navigating complex employee relations.
- Champion equitable talent practices in hiring, development, and promotions to foster an inclusive workplace.
- Lead efforts to adopt HR technologies, AI applications, and self-service tools to enhance the employee experience and streamline processes.
- Identify systemic issues within the site, make informed decisions aligned with company policies, and implement solutions that reduce risk and improve compliance.
Work Environment
This role is fully onsite at an Amazon facility in Matteson, IL, within Fulfillment Centers part of North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF), which use technology and robotics to help deliver millions of items daily. The NACF PXT team nurtures talent to grow across Amazon's businesses, supports up to 6,000 associates, and focuses on strategic and tactical HR leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for a Master’s degree or MBA.
- At least 2 years of experience in human resources or related fields such as operations, customer service, retail, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, or manufacturing.
- Experience with employee-focused processes such as onboarding, benefits administration, investigations, training, or talent management.
- Preferred experience includes supporting operational environments (manufacturing or distribution), proven ability to train and guide others in HR technologies, and handling employee relations and workplace investigations.
- Strong coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to guide business leaders through complex situations and support employee engagement initiatives that improve retention and satisfaction.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $67,600 to $118,400 annually. Package details include sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs). Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, dental, vision, life insurance, mental health support, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
