About the Role
The Senior Manager of People & Organization (P&O) for the East & Central regions at CHANEL plays a pivotal role in overseeing core human resources functions within fashion boutiques across the market. This position acts as a vital business ally to Boutique Leadership Teams (BLT) by fostering leadership capabilities and driving performance through a human-centered approach. Stationed primarily at the DC City Center Boutique, this role also extends support to boutiques in Tysons, Boston, King of Prussia, Chicago, Troy, and New Jersey. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and hands-on executor, passionate about relationship building and devising impactful HR solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote an inclusive workplace culture that supports individual growth contributing to overall team success.
- Integrate CHANEL’s core competencies and conduct focused initiatives on employee well-being.
- Engage with retail staff at all levels through one-on-one meetings, group discussions, and regular pulse checks to strengthen interpersonal connections.
- Collaborate with BLTs and education teams to ensure seamless onboarding and integration of new hires.
- Support career discussions, identify developmental needs, and assist in organizational structuring and succession planning with regional HR leadership.
- Lead compensation and performance review cycles by advising BLTs and ensuring equity.
- Analyze workforce trends to guide decision-making on diversity, well-being, and other HR priorities.
- Identify performance gaps in conjunction with BLT and offer coaching, counseling, and support during disciplinary processes.
- Drive a culture of diversity and inclusion through recruitment forecasting, internal mobility initiatives, and partnership with talent acquisition.
- Manage employee relations by promptly and objectively investigating workplace issues while consulting legal and HR partners.
- Stay current on employment laws and best HR practices, partnering with various internal teams for effective policy implementation and problem resolution.
Candidate Profile
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence and objectively evaluate situations.
- Demonstrated discretion, independent judgment, and attention to detail.
- Previous HR experience in retail or wholesale environments preferred, with enthusiasm for frequent on-site retail engagement.
- Hands-on experience in employee relations and proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday and basic data analysis using Excel.
- Minimum of 7 years of core HR generalist experience; Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Availability to work in boutiques at least three days per week including two days in DC City Center and one day at Tysons; additional travel to other boutiques as necessary.

- Salary range: $87,500 to $132,000 base salary, supplemented by potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
