Job description

About GraceMed

GraceMed is a growing healthcare organization providing plastic and cosmetic surgery, aesthetic treatments, hormonal health, and medical-grade skincare services across multiple sites. The company is committed to helping patients realize their authentic selves through world-class medical care.

Role Overview

We are seeking a People & Culture Business Partner to join us on an 18 to 24 month maternity leave contract (with potential for permanent placement). Based remotely with occasional travel to clinics, you will serve as a strategic advisor to Clinic Managers and Support Office leadership. Your focus will be to coach and counsel management on people-related decisions, employee relations, and translating business goals into human capital initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted business partner, guiding Clinic Managers and Support Office leaders through workforce decisions, team dynamics, and challenging interpersonal situations.
  • Collaborate with the VP of People & Culture on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management as GraceMed moves toward decentralizing operations.
  • Enable Clinic Managers to take ownership of hiring and onboarding, offering coaching and quality assurance rather than direct execution.
  • Translate corporate priorities into actionable, practical people programs implemented across multiple clinics.
  • Serve as the escalation contact for complex employee relations issues, workplace investigations, and performance management challenges.
  • Coach managers on conflict resolution, progressive discipline, and effective performance discussions, focusing on capability building.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and related employment legislation.
  • Design accommodation and return-to-work plans for complicated employee cases.
  • Advise on talent acquisition quality, interview calibration, and hiring decisions at the clinic level while leading recruitment for Support Office and healthcare providers.
  • Manage the annual performance review process and coach leaders on delivering specific, constructive feedback.
  • Promote culture and engagement initiatives across both clinic and Support Office teams.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop structured training materials and standard operating procedures derived from frontline expertise.
  • Co-lead development and implementation of a training framework for Clinic Managers.
  • Identify training requirements across clinics and prioritize development efforts collaboratively with leaders and SMEs.
  • Maintain and continuously refine SOP documentation with process owners and SME network.
  • Support onboarding curriculum development for all new employees.
  • Oversee employee data accuracy in ADP Workforce Now and coordinate with payroll on changes, leaves, and employee transfers.
  • Assist benefits and leave management in partnership with service providers and finance.
  • Leverage HR metrics and data analytics to inform managerial coaching and business decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in HR, including roles as business partner or generalist.
  • Thorough understanding of Ontario employment laws such as the Employment Standards Act.
  • Proven ability to coach managers and provide strategic advice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consultation skills.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Professionalism and a strict approach to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed or in-progress HR designation or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with decentralized, multi-location teams.
  • Background in healthcare or multi-site service environments.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now or similar HR information systems.

Additional Information

This role is fully remote with occasional travel to clinic locations. It is currently open as an 18 to 24 month maternity leave contract, with a possibility to convert to permanent. GraceMed embraces diversity and is committed to inclusion and accommodation during the recruitment process.
