Housekeeping Attendant

Role Overview

This position is for a Housekeeping Attendant at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong and Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong. The role supports the smooth daily operation of guest floors and back-of-house housekeeping functions while upholding the brand’s service and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Report any room damage or equipment faults to the housekeeping supervisor.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions whenever required.
• Coordinate with the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor on chemical use, operational issues, and suggested corrective actions.
• Respond quickly and politely to guest requests and service instructions from supervisors.
• Ensure guest requests are completed on time and in line with hotel standards.
• Provide valet-related support when needed, including linen delivery and laundry order handling.
• Check linens received from the vendor and confirm quantities are in order.
• Move guest amenities from the store to the pantry and deliver amenities to guest rooms as per brand standards.
• Replenish guest supplies and maintain the required stock in assigned areas.
• Wash bed linens as part of housekeeping operations.
• Maintain section room reports and daily room checklists.
• Clean and service guest rooms, corridors, linen rooms, and cupboards according to established procedures.
• Keep housekeeping equipment clean and in good repair.
• Stay informed about hotel programs and events to better recognise and respond to guest needs.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of hotel information so guests can be assisted accurately.
• Assist guests and escort them to locations within the hotel when requested.
• Work according to business needs and brand standards at all times.
• Follow grooming and personal hygiene standards carefully.
• Handle emergencies promptly and effectively.
• Complete any additional tasks assigned by management or designated supervisors.
• Immediately report lost and found items to the appropriate superior.
• Escalate guest complaints to the supervisor without delay.

Requirements

• Primary education or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Previous housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills are needed for regular interaction with guests, colleagues, and external parties.
• Ability to interact professionally in a way that reflects well on the hotel, brand, and company.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
