Job description
Overview
Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join their busy Endoscopy Team. This opportunity is available in the Endoscopy Units located across two sites – MKUH and the White House Diagnostic Centre (WHDC). The department supports outpatient and inpatient endoscopic procedures within purpose-built facilities including four theatres at MKUH and two at WHDC. One theatre offers advanced services such as X-ray screening and laser procedures.
Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will collaborate with Endoscopists, Staff Nurses, Nurse Associates, and fellow Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality patient care throughout the units. While previous experience in endoscopy is not mandatory, a basic understanding of endoscopic procedures will be advantageous. Comprehensive training will be provided to all new hires.
Salary and Banding
This is a Band 3 post with an annual salary between 3,272 and 3,476, contingent upon holding a valid NHS Care Certificate. Applicants without the care certificate will start on Band 2 and receive support to obtain the certificate within six months, after which they will be upgraded to Band 3.
Work Hours and Flexibility
The position requires 37.5 hours per week. All roles at MKUH, including this one, will be considered for flexible working arrangements.
Organizational Context
Milton Keynes University Hospital is a medium-sized general hospital recognized as a University Teaching Hospital in partnership with the University of Buckingham. The hospital offers extensive services including emergency care, maternity, paediatrics, specialist surgical care, and newly opened advanced radiotherapy facilities.
