Head of International Relations Division, especially International Trainer Course (m/w/d/x)

Position Overview

The Faculty of Sports Science at Leipzig University is seeking to fill the role of Head of the International Relations Division, focusing particularly on the International Trainer Course (ITK). This permanent, full-time position (with potential for part-time arrangements) commands a remuneration level equivalent to Pay Group 13 TV-L. The successful candidate will be based at the vibrant Leipzig campus and will contribute actively to this dynamic, research-intensive university environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the International Trainer Course and associated spin-off projects such as those funded by DAAD and potentially ERASMUS+.
• Manage and oversee financial administration for the ITK and related projects.
• Supervise and coordinate scientific staff, supporting personnel, and external contractors involved in the projects.
• Develop and enhance international continuing education and training programs within the faculty.
• Conduct teaching duties in both German and English on topics related to International Sports Management and basic sports science courses.
• Administer examinations during official periods in both German and English.
• Secure third-party funding to support the faculty’s international relations initiatives.
• Engage in networking activities with regional, national, and international sports organizations.
• Represent the Faculty of Sports Science and the ITK nationally and internationally.
• Participate actively in the university’s Internationalization Commission.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed academic studies with a focus on sports science.
• Doctorate in a sports science-related field.
• Experience in project management, including project administration and staff leadership.
• Familiarity with university administrative processes is desirable.
• Experience in university-level teaching.
• Background in international projects and organizations within sport and education sectors, such as DAAD or ERASMUS+.
• Knowledge of study program and examination regulations is considered advantageous.
• Fluency in English with excellent written and spoken skills; additional languages like Spanish, French, or Arabic are welcome.
• Experience collaborating with international organizations, universities, or sports federations (e.g., EPAS) is beneficial.
• Proficiency in common office software (Word, Excel) and familiarity with student management and evaluation systems preferred.
