Head of Finance - VC platform

About the Role

A fast-scaling investment platform is seeking a Head of Finance to join its Germany-based team. This position offers the chance to own the finance function end to end within a growth-oriented business that backs innovative, technology-led companies.

Working alongside the founders and senior leadership, you will help shape financial direction, support capital-raising activity, strengthen investor communications, and improve operational performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of the finance function across the wider group and build it further
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
• Monitor cash flow, treasury activities, and liquidity requirements
• Assist with fundraising efforts and communication with investors
• Prepare reporting materials for the board and shareholders
• Work with external advisors, auditors, and tax specialists
• Lead finance process enhancements and transformation projects
• Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic initiatives and corporate development

Candidate Profile

• At least 7 years of relevant finance experience
• Prior experience in a senior finance leadership position such as Head of Finance, Finance Director, CFO, or an equivalent role
• Experience in venture capital, private equity, venture-backed technology companies, or high-growth scale-ups is strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting, FP&A, cash management, and corporate finance
• Exposure to fundraising, investor reporting, or board reporting is required
• A practical, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
• English fluency is mandatory; German language skills are beneficial
