Head of Finance - Venture Capital Platform

About the Role

An entrepreneurial investment platform based in Germany seeks an experienced Head of Finance to oversee its finance operations. This role offers a unique chance to lead the finance function within a rapidly expanding investment firm focusing on technology-driven, innovative companies. Collaborating directly with founders and senior leaders, you will influence financial strategy, assist in fundraising efforts, manage investor relations, and enhance operational efficiencies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and build the finance department across the entire group.
• Take charge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Oversee cash flow management, treasury operations, and liquidity planning.
• Support fundraising initiatives and facilitate communications with investors.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for boards and shareholders.
• Coordinate work with external advisors, auditors, and tax consultants.
• Implement finance-related process enhancements and transformation projects.
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership on strategic and corporate development activities.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 7 years of pertinent experience in finance.
• Previous roles in senior finance leadership such as Head of Finance, Finance Director, or CFO.
• Experience in venture capital, private equity, venture-backed tech enterprises, or rapidly scaling startups is highly advantageous.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, financial planning & analysis, cash management, and corporate finance.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting fundraising, investor engagement, and board reporting.
• Entrepreneurially driven, hands-on approach with an ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of German is a plus.
