Role Overview

As Mintlify's inaugural finance leader, you will have full responsibility for developing and maintaining the company's financial operating model, forecasting, investor and board reporting, budgeting, pricing strategy, and cash management. You will oversee the accounting operations managed through an outsourced partner and eventually build and lead your own finance team. This role is fundamental in shaping the finance function within a hybrid business model combining self-service and sales-driven revenue streams, featuring usage-based and credit billing, multi-year enterprise contracts, and managing subsidiary entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the comprehensive company operating model.
• Manage and own board and investor reporting deliverables.
• Implement departmental budgets and conduct monthly budget-versus-actual reviews with team leads.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams on pricing, packaging, and deal economics.
• Oversee treasury functions including runway planning and prepare for fundraising readiness.
• Manage monthly financial close processes, payroll, billing reconciliation, tax compliance, and related finance operations.
• Plan and execute hiring for the expanding finance team.

Required Qualifications

• At least 8 years of progressively responsible finance experience, including leadership roles within high-growth SaaS companies generating $10M to $100M in ARR.
• Proven expertise in constructing and managing driver-based financial operating models.
• Experience producing independent board and investor reporting materials.
• In-depth understanding of usage-based billing and hybrid product-led growth combined with sales-led revenue models.
• Demonstrated ability to establish finance functions or significant components thereof from the ground up.
• Participation in at least one successful fundraising or major due diligence process from the company's perspective.
• Strong knowledge of finance controllership practices with the skill to recruit and supervise relevant personnel.
• Self-motivated with a high degree of accountability, rapid execution capabilities, and humility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with accounting for multiple entities or subsidiaries.
• Background in selecting and deploying modern financial technology platforms.
• Professional accounting credentials such as CPA or similar qualifications.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range from $265,000 to $305,000 complemented by equity participation.
