Position Overview
The Head Cashier plays a crucial role in backing the Front End Supervisor by motivating front end and lot associates to embody GET behaviours and deliver an excellent shopping experience. This position includes coaching, training, scheduling, and handling the first line of escalation for customer concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example by consistently demonstrating GET behaviours and encouraging a positive team spirit among associates.
- Manage checkout availability to maintain lines that do not exceed one customer at the register plus two waiting.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs focusing on customer experience, ensuring readiness for grand openings, promotional displays, and flyer accuracy as per the Playbook.
- Monitor associate activities to verify suitable staffing meets business demands.
- Provide associates with necessary training, resources, coaching, motivation, and recognition to help them meet or exceed expectations and take on greater responsibilities.
- Communicate store leadership goals, priorities, and directives clearly to associates.
- Ensure the parking lot is clean and accessible.
- Deploy backup cashiers when needed and assign registers accordingly.
- Operate cash machines and instruct others on their use.
- Support security personnel with cash collection activities.
- Adhere to all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and ensure associates do the same to protect assets and reduce shrinkage.

Compensation
The salary for this role ranges from $20.10 to $21.85 per hour.
