School Custodial Cleaner

Job Overview

We seek a dependable and skilled Custodial Cleaner to carry out general cleaning tasks within assigned areas of educational institutions such as K-12 schools, colleges, or university campuses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in assigned locations, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
• Sweep floors, remove debris, promptly clean up spills, and mop designated areas.
• Regularly monitor and empty trash bins across all assigned zones.
• Adhere strictly to procedures when using chemical cleaning agents and powered equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Report to lead or manager about any required minor or major repairs or updates to building systems.
• Foster effective communication and teamwork with clients, coworkers, supervisors, coordinators, and management.
• Collect, sort, and separate recyclables into appropriate containers.
• Clean and dust furniture such as desks, chairs, tables, including fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
• Polish hard surfaces including woodwork and stainless steel components.
• Clean and wipe tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food service areas.
• Manually or with hand trucks relocate cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to facilitate cleaning.
• Clean interior glass surfaces including partition glass, windows, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools.
• Perform seasonal outdoor tasks such as sweeping walkways, raking leaves, mowing grass, and snow removal.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness and polish as necessary.
• Comply with all prescribed safety, security, compliance, and quality standards from company policies, clients, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No prior experience or specific education needed; training is provided on the job.
• High school diploma, GED, or college degree is not required.
• Customer service experience and one year of related cleaning work preferred but not mandatory.
