Job Location
This position is based at Hillcrest School, situated in the community of Estevan, Saskatchewan.
Employment Term
The role is temporary, beginning immediately and continuing through to October 24, 2026, with a possible extension thereafter.
Work Hours
The workload corresponds to full-time employment with eight-hour workdays, totaling 40 hours each week.
Responsibilities and Duties
The caretaker's duties are detailed thoroughly in an accompanying document; however, the role encompasses general maintenance and caretaking tasks for the school premises.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum education requirement: Grade 10, though Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
- A valid Fireman's Certificate is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in caretaking is valued.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures, tools, products, and equipment is preferred.
- Basic mechanical and plumbing knowledge and skills are required.
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate tractors, mowers, and similar equipment.
- Computer skills and familiarity with relevant software applications.
- Understanding of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
- Commitment to public education principles and adherence to the mission, vision, and guiding values of the South East Cornerstone School Division.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage starts at $23.49 per hour, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package and participation in an employer-defined pension plan. Salary and benefits align with the SEIU-West Collective Agreement.
Additional Information
The selected individual will be required to pass a criminal record and vulnerable sector background check, per Administrative Procedure 401.
