Role Overview
This full-time, on-site plant maintenance position involves delivering exceptional plant care and maintenance services across various client environments. The specialist will conduct routine tasks like watering, pruning, cleaning, repotting, and monitoring the health of tropical and other plants to ensure optimal appearance and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with customers during consultations to understand and meet their plant care needs.
- Perform regular plant upkeep including watering, pruning, cleaning, repotting, and health inspections in residential, commercial, and retail settings.
- Identify and address plant health concerns such as pests and diseases and coordinate treatments or replacements as required.
- Maintain visually appealing and safe plant displays aligned with client requirements.
- Communicate with clients and team members to schedule visits, document maintenance activities, and report any issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven expertise in tropical plant maintenance and general plant care ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Knowledge in preventive maintenance approaches aimed at minimizing plant stress and disease occurrence.
- Capability to perform maintenance and minor repairs on plant installations.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities to quickly diagnose plant problems and determine economical solutions.
- Understanding of indoor and outdoor plant care principles including watering, pruning, and pest management.
- Independent work ethic with efficient time management and ability to prioritize multiple client locations.
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on safety in retail and customer environments.
- Possession of reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license to travel across Kelowna and nearby areas.
- Previous relevant experience in plant maintenance, landscaping, facility upkeep, or related fields.
