Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Global Travel and Events Specialist to manage all travel, expenses, and meeting & event-related inquiries within a dynamic corporate environment. This contract role is remote, preferably aligned with the Pacific Standard Time zone, lasting six months with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $60 to $75.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for corporate travel, expense, and M&E questions via Slack, email, and ticketing platforms.
- Coordinate group air travel bookings through the Travel Management Company (TMC), ensuring swift and accurate responses related to travel policies, booking tools, expense submissions, and reimbursements.
- Assist employees with corporate card management, including applications, troubleshooting, limit adjustments, and handling lost, stolen, or fraudulent cards while ensuring adherence to related policies.
- Oversee bookings and payments for non-employee travelers such as candidates, consultants, and guest speakers, ensuring compliance and proper approvals for ad-hoc travel expenses.
- Manage a ticketing system to efficiently track and resolve requests, escalate complex issues appropriately, identify recurring challenges, and suggest process improvements.
- Generate and analyze travel expense reports, monitor policy compliance, and corporate card utilization to identify trends and optimize processes.
- Develop and update FAQs, training resources, and policy documentation; undertake special projects concerning M&E travel and expenses in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of three years’ experience in travel, expense management, finance, or support roles within TMC or corporate settings.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple inquiries efficiently and with accuracy.
- Thorough understanding of corporate travel policies, travel and expense (T&E) management platforms such as Workday, AppZen, Concur, and Navan, along with corporate card procedures.
- Familiarity with communication and support tools including Slack, ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Zendesk, event software such as Cvent, and reporting tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with high attention to detail and commitment to compliance without sacrificing positive user experience.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment to support operational objectives.
