Job Overview
The Clinical Research Nurse role involves actively responding to patient alerts, evaluating patient symptoms, adhering to established clinical protocols, and documenting clinical findings, plans, and outcomes within electronic medical records and relevant data collection tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and record research data working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Enroll and interview study participants, review medical records and assist in nursing research planning.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with patients, families, community groups, and volunteers; liaise with public agencies connected to research efforts.
- Assess participant eligibility, secure informed consent, and oversee patient enrollment and care coordination within research protocols.
- Communicate research protocols to participants, address their queries, schedule involvement, enforce protocol adherence, and update referring physicians.
- Manage collection, organization, transcription, and verification of research data, including creation of data capture tools such as REDCap.
- Collaborate with research administration and Principal Investigator for Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation and submissions.
- Maintain timely and accurate communication with sponsors, auditors, monitoring bodies, and IRBs.
- Perform additional duties needed to support study conduct and division functions.
- Cover clinical locations across Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties with willingness and reliable transportation to travel over an hour between sites on weekdays.
- Work is split between onsite presence in assigned counties and telehealth/remote activities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- At least three years of professional nursing experience.
- Registered Nurse license valid under Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.
- Health assessment clearance is mandatory prior to hiring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Over three years of experience in obstetrics and/or clinical research, including patient recruitment, managing research studies, conducting follow-up visits, and maintaining study documentation.

- The position expects an annual salary of $70,000.
