About One Health Studio
One Health Studio is Alloy's AI-driven venture studio centered on human, animal, and planetary health. It develops companies merging corporate innovation, early-stage startups, and advanced AI solutions. The portfolio covers a variety of fields including animal diagnostics, genomics, infectious disease detection, robotics, computer vision, and health infrastructure. The studio is a dynamic, high-judgment team comprising founder-caliber entrepreneurs in residence (EIRs), corporate collaborators, and investors with high expectations.
Role Overview
The Chief of Staff serves as the operational backbone of One Health Studio, partnering closely with the Managing Director to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the studio and its expanding portfolio. This hands-on role involves managing the coordination and tracking of deliverables, maintaining accountability among EIRs, and managing partner and investor relations. The position emphasizes execution and operational rigor, transforming strategy into tangible results while integrating with Alloy’s centralized resources such as Legal, Finance, HR, Marketing, Talent, and Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage real-time progress monitoring across all concepts and portfolio companies, maintaining detailed trackers of milestones, blockers, and relationships.
- Support portfolio companies during incubation by facilitating systems onboarding, coordinating research, and connecting founders with appropriate resources.
- Act as the operational liaison for EIRs, assisting with resource navigation and resolving operational obstacles.
- Oversee communications and follow-ups with corporate partners, investors, academic institutions, and service providers.
- Track and manage portfolio contracts including MOUs, EIR agreements, option agreements, and licensing deals, coordinating with Legal and Finance on key dates and milestones.
- Prepare investor and partner communications, including updates, diligence requests, and meeting materials.
- Design, implement, and maintain systems such as onboarding playbooks, reporting templates, and communication schedules, leveraging AI tools for efficiency.
- Handle high-priority ad hoc tasks such as research reports, market analyses, regulatory filing coordination, and grant applications as needed.
Candidate Profile
- 5–7 years of post-graduate experience in demanding environments such as venture studios or VC firms, startup operations, consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy.
- Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to translate strategic goals into scalable execution and consistent follow-through.
- Highly proactive, quickly identifying challenges and initiating solutions independently.
- Collaborative approach, maintaining frequent communication with the Managing Director, EIRs, and Alloy’s shared services.
- Comfortable operating autonomously in uncertain or ambiguous situations.
- Capable of multitasking across diverse responsibilities, from contract drafting to investor engagement within the same day.
- Exceptional written communication skills, able to produce clear and concise documents.
- Committed to high standards of quality and attention to detail.
- Genuine interest in health, biotechnology, or venture capital sectors.
- Proficient with AI tools from the onset, comfortable coding and iterating rapidly using platforms like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Terminal.
- Preferred candidates are located in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area or Indianapolis.
Additional Qualifications (Bonus)
- Experience in design or product development, with a strong sense of user experience and product aesthetics.
- Background in venture studios, incubators, accelerators, or venture funds, supporting a variety of founder needs.
- Experience in life sciences, health technology, or animal health sectors.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA and USDA, or experience with CDMO/manufacturing processes.
- Experience coordinating with academic partners or managing government grant programs.
Benefits and Culture
- Competitive salary combined with an equity plan.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Remote-first working culture with unlimited paid time off.
- Collaborative and entrepreneurial working environment supported by a proven venture studio framework.
- Opportunities to build, innovate, and scale forward-thinking companies.

- Boldness: Pursuing ambitious ideas while challenging the status quo.
- Action-Oriented: Prioritizing progress and taking decisive steps to create valuable data and insights.
