Job description

Overview

As the Chief of Staff to the CEO at Everyday Dose, you will be responsible for managing the CEO's operational framework including goal-setting, maintaining leadership meeting cadence, and ensuring diligent follow-through on company priorities. The role involves ownership of projects without clear owners and requires your proactive leadership in a fast-moving environment where the challenge lies in prioritizing and successfully completing key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment of company goals by partnering with executives to transform intentions into clear, measurable objectives, and disseminate these to the entire organization.
  • Ensure continuous management of these goals by tracking progress, identifying potential issues early, and escalating matters to the CEO as required to avoid crises.
  • Organize and drive the weekly leadership meetings by setting the agenda, presenting data, facilitating decisive outcomes, and holding accountable all action items with follow-ups.
  • Develop and maintain a reliable company-wide reporting system in collaboration with finance and data teams, ensuring data accuracy and reconciliation of conflicting sources.
  • Oversee high-impact cross-functional projects lacking direct ownership, synthesizing ambiguous challenges into definitive answers, actionable models, and structured plans.
  • Support the CEO with rigorous review of decisions, preparation of board and investor communications, and candid feedback that drives sound strategic choices.

Success Milestones Within 90 Days

  • All company-wide quarterly goals are precisely defined, owned, and immediately accessible to leadership without reference materials.
  • Leadership meetings follow a consistent, productive structure with up-to-date dashboards and sustained decision execution.
  • A single trusted company dashboard sourced from the data warehouse is actively used across leadership.
  • Two major ambiguous projects successfully transitioned to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Noticeable reallocation of CEO’s focus toward highest-impact activities.

Candidate Profile

  • 8 to 12 years of professional experience, including roles such as Chief of Staff, Business Operations lead, Strategy & Operations head, or comparable positions reporting to senior executives or founders.
  • Exceptional academic background and proven advancement within reputable organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills with fluency in spreadsheets and data analysis tools; ability to create models, evaluate opportunities, and independently gather and analyze quantitative data.
  • Excellent communication with the ability to distill complex discussions into succinct, influential written summaries and presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational rhythms including OKRs, weekly reviews, and strategic planning in high-volume companies.
  • Confidence and tact in holding senior leaders accountable for measurable goals and deadlines, maintaining professionalism and earning respect.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments, willingness to engage in various tasks, and prioritize outcomes over hierarchy.
  • Regular use of AI tools to expedite data analysis, document drafting, and research.

Preferred Extras

  • Experience with direct-to-consumer (DTC), subscription, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) businesses, especially those with recurring revenue and retention focus.
  • Background in consulting, investment banking, or private equity combined with operational leadership experience.
  • Experience preparing materials and presenting to boards and investors.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or related data querying abilities.

Role Clarifications

  • This is not an executive assistant position; calendar management and travel arrangements are not responsibilities.
  • This is not a project management role focused on note-taking or tracker updates.
  • This role goes beyond strategy recommendations to include ownership of outcomes.
  • There is no immediate team leadership responsibility, although the role may evolve to include this.

How to Apply

Applicants should submit the following materials instead of a traditional cover letter:

  • A one-page description of an operating cadence you designed or managed, including previous state, changes made, and measurable improvements.
  • An example recounting a time when you candidly delivered unwelcome feedback to an executive and the aftermath.
  • A short essay addressing the scenario of diagnosing retention decline in a subscription business with conflicting executive viewpoints: what initial analyses you would conduct, your approach to finding the truth, and how you would communicate with the leadership team.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary complemented by performance bonuses.
  • Equity participation to share ownership of company success.
  • Comprehensive health insurance and a health-related stipend.
  • Generous vacation and personal time off allowances.
  • Complimentary company products.
