Position Overview
American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) is looking for a Verification Examiner I to join their Credentialing team. The role focuses on confirming practitioner credentials following department, accreditation, regulatory, and health plan requirements, fully supported via remote work.
Remote Work Requirements
- The position will be trained remotely and operated from home with company-provided technology.
- A stable internet connection with at least 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed is required (100/20 Mbps preferred) for effective video meetings.
- A designated workspace at home is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily verification and update credentialing data in PROMIS adhering to established standards and health plan criteria.
- Complete 20 or more primary source verifications each day, reporting daily production to supervisors.
- Confirm that applicants hold a current, valid license, checking for any sanctions through regulatory bodies and analyzing Medicare or Medicaid sanctions using designated systems.
- Verify current professional liability insurance and malpractice claim history for applicants.
- Authenticate educational qualifications via state licensing bodies or relevant academic institutions.
- Communicate with practitioners through mail, fax, or phone to clarify information or obtain necessary documentation.
- Verify clinical privileges status with healthcare facilities.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive practitioner data and complete assigned work within set deadlines.
- Ensure data accuracy rate is no less than 99%.
- Participate in team projects and provide assistance across the department as needed, complying with all company policies and standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least one year experience with computers, including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Industry or data entry experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills over the phone.
