Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Branch Manager to lead the Whakatane branch. This leadership role offers full accountability for the branch's overall performance, including commercial outcomes and building a motivated team focused on excellent customer experiences.

You will drive success by making sound business decisions, fostering a customer-centric environment, and leading from the front. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday with alternate Saturday mornings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing, engaged team promoting accountability
  • Proactively manage team performance, recognising achievements and addressing issues
  • Own all financial aspects of the branch including sales targets, margins, and profitability
  • Develop and nurture long-term customer relationships while expanding market share
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in partnership with sales representatives
  • Instill and maintain a strong sales and service-oriented culture within the team
  • Oversee stock management including control, accuracy, stocktake, loss prevention, and warranty claims
  • Ensure the branch is well-maintained, efficient, and prepared to serve customers
  • Maintain high service quality standards including delivery punctuality and customer satisfaction
  • Manage budgets, profit and loss, and achieve branch operational targets
  • Control debtor accounts and ensure company policy compliance
  • Produce accurate reporting and continuously seek ways to improve branch operations
  • Create and implement a comprehensive branch business plan aligned with company strategy

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated leadership success in building and managing effective teams
  • Strong commercial understanding and proven ability to drive sales and profitability
  • Experienced in customer relations, sales management, and business development
  • Adept at balancing people management, operational efficiency, and financial goals
  • Hands-on, solution-oriented leader with excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience in automotive, trade, or wholesale sectors is preferred
