Role Overview
The Sales and Delivery Driver role based at the Hawkes Bay branch involves an active, hands-on approach that merges delivery duties with customer interaction and sales support. You will regularly travel throughout the Hawkes Bay region delivering battery products, assisting customers with orders, and contributing to business growth via relationship building and product knowledge-sharing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver battery products to customers throughout the Hawkes Bay area.
- Establish and nurture relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Help drive sales through ongoing customer engagement and informed product discussions.
- Process customer orders efficiently and accurately.
- Address customer inquiries and offer suitable product recommendations.
- Adhere to a structured customer call plan while supporting branch sales tasks.
- Collaborate closely with branch colleagues to maintain superior customer service standards.
- Ensure safe handling, loading, and transportation of battery products.
- Maintain a professional representation of HCB at all customer touchpoints and during transit.
Candidate Profile
While prior battery product expertise is not required, key attributes include a positive demeanor, dependability, excellent communication, and the ability to develop customer trust. Independence balanced with team coordination is essential, alongside a readiness to acquire product, system, and sales knowledge. Physical fitness is necessary due to the physical nature of product handling.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a full, clean New Zealand driver’s license.
- Strong verbal communication and customer service aptitude.
- A proactive, reliable nature with a positive mindset.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Confidence in engaging face-to-face with customers.
- Ability to operate autonomously while aligned with the branch team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new products and processes.
- Eligibility to work legally in New Zealand.
Preferred Experience
Experience in automotive, trade, delivery, warehousing, retail, or customer service sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
