The company also operates businesses across financial services such as insurance, lending, and wealth, along with newer consumer offerings like Pincode, a hyperlocal e-commerce service, and Indus AppStore, a localized Android app marketplace. Work Culture
PhonePe emphasizes ownership, trust, speed, and the ability to build from scratch. Team members are expected to solve complex problems, move quickly, and contribute to platforms that reach millions of users. The environment is suited to people who enjoy collaborating with strong peers and turning ambitious ideas into reality with focus and momentum.
Role Overview
This position is for a videography leader who will set the technical and visual benchmark for content production. The role focuses on making sure every captured frame is visually polished and technically sound, with attention to lighting, optics, audio, and production workflow. The work sits at the intersection of premium cinematography and a high-speed AI-enabled production process, where the quality of raw footage directly affects the final output.
Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to shape the look of the brand through camera and lighting choices, build reliable shoot setups, and ensure that the production pipeline consistently delivers high-quality inputs for post-production and AI-based enhancement.
Lighting and Optical Direction
- Develop lighting setups that go beyond standard three-point arrangements by controlling contrast, texture, and color temperature to create a distinctive visual style for each format.
- Maintain accurate skin tones and consistent color across different cameras and sensors, while ensuring the color workflow stays aligned from the shoot through final rendering.
- Establish the visual language for each series by selecting the right lenses and apertures based on the intended tone, whether the goal is a crisp, clinical finish or a more cinematic look.
Technical Capture and AI Readiness
- Handle production specifications such as bitrate, codec selection, and frame rate so the AI and post-production teams receive the best possible source material.
- Protect image integrity for editing and enhancement by lighting and framing in ways that support masking, background replacement, and temporal stability, while reducing flicker and similar artifacts.
- Manage audio capture end to end, including mic placement and gain, to achieve a strong signal-to-noise ratio and clean audio suitable for downstream voice processing.
Set Workflow Engineering
- Create repeatable lighting and studio setups that allow talent to step into a pre-configured environment and begin 4K or 6K shooting quickly.
- Keep the production equipment stack current by tracking firmware and hardware updates that can improve capture speed without compromising image quality.
- Lead on-set technical execution, giving clear guidance to the talent and crew so each take is achieved efficiently and to standard.
What the Team Is Looking For
The ideal candidate should be quick to adapt to new production technologies, extremely detail-oriented, comfortable analyzing technical requirements, and able to solve problems on the fly. Strong ownership is essential, as this person will be responsible for protecting the visual quality of the footage and correcting process gaps when needed.
Company Benefits
This is a full-time employee role, so the standard benefits package applies. Benefits mentioned by the company include medical, critical illness, accident, and life insurance; employee assistance, onsite medical center access, and emergency support; maternity, paternity, adoption, and day-care support; relocation, transfer, and travel support; PF contribution options, gratuity, NPS, and leave encashment; plus higher education assistance, car lease, and salary advance policy.
Equal Opportunity and Inclusion
PhonePe states that it is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants regardless of gender, sexual preference, religion, race, color, or disability. The company also notes that candidates who need support or reasonable accommodation during the application, interview, or onboarding process may request assistance through the process provided by the employer.
